Thomas Cotton’s early years were filled with challenges and no direction. Having gone though a criminal lifestyle which lead to being incarcerated Thomas can relate to and inspire many by his experience and turnaround. He realizes that his story is unique to him, but everyone has a story and the same change he experienced can be for everyone.

Thomas has a strong desire to see people stay alive and free from jail, prison and negative cycles. This led him in 2010 to launch Redemption & Advancement Alliance, Inc. (RAA). It was to the point he was frustrated seeing people caught in negative cycles along with going in and out of jail/prison.

He began with the purpose of providing education, inspiration and guidance to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals through group activities and services. These endeavors were designed to generate positive and productive reintegration into society, community and family. He then began to expand to organizations that served the "at risk" population along with organizations that serve those with "barriers to employments".

His hope is to have an organization that walks participants through a process, which includes working with partnering organizations, to help people break out of negative cycles, so they will be able to one day help others of the same cycles they were once a part of.

Throughout the 18 years Thomas has dedicated to help many overcome challenges, he has served in many roles that include being a youth pastor, family strengthening guide, mentor and pastor.
